Linda

Months ago, Linda lost the little furniture she had to bed bugs. Her and her nephew were left with two mattresses on the floor and a few chairs.

We were connected with Linda through Central Neighborhood House. After Linda filled out an application for the Open Box Foundation and we recieved it, Bronwyn went for a home visit to meet with Linda and her nephew. Bronwyn and Linda decided together that Open Box would be a great fit for her.

After taking some measurements and getting an idea of some of the pieces that Linda could benefit from, Bronwyn and Devon picked out some pieces that would work well together and fit Linda’s space and furniture needs.

Yesterday, Bronwyn and Joanna organized for the pieces to be delivered to Linda’s home. Elite Movers were there to help us move the large sectional, the area rug, throw pillows, artwork, lamp and side tables.

We were grateful to have been connected to Linda through Central Neighbourhood House and to be able to provide her with some furniture that she loves. We are also so grateful to our clients who donated these pieces to the CX network in exchange for a discount on our products. Linda and her nephew were delighted with their new furniture, especially the sectional.

Over the next few weeks I will check in with Linda to make sure everything is working out well. In the meantime, on to our next Open Box project!

Xmas and the City – a great success!

Here at Condobox, we like to throw parties. On December 15th we rang in the season with Xmas and the City, a holiday party for our clients. The event was hosted by Joanna Kakkavas, CEO and President of Condobox.

What made this event extra special, was that through a silent auction, we raised money for the Open Box Foundation. That evening, we raised $2350.00 for our foundation – what a success!!

As the new year rolls in, we are extra to work with Central Neighbourhood House on Open Box projects and to continue to provide excellent interior design services to our Toronto Community.

Salima’s Donation

Here is how the magic works:

Our client, Salima, was working with a CX designer to re-design her living room. New light fixtures were installed, a new hall bench and a custom-made entertainment unit. With this new furniture, Salima needed to get rid of some of her old pieces. To help her out, Condobox took these pieces to use towards the Open Box Foundation. To thank her for this donation, we gave her a credit for Condobox which she used towards a beautiful mirror which helped complete her space.
